SFTP
Special Forces Training Program

Apply through your unit Readiness NCO. Pass a Special Forces Assessment. Leave your unit while you focus on SFAS and attend two preparation drills. Get selected and go to the SFQC. Fail for any reason, and you can try again the following year or the year after.

Program Overview

OVERVIEW
Candidates will submit a simple application that confirm their basic administrative readiness. Entry into the program is determined by performance at Special Forces Assessment (SFA). Those that pass SFA will be attached to the SFTP team and complete two training drills over the next three months. Special Forces Readiness (SFR) is a training drill and Special Forces Evaluation (SFE) is a test. During the SFR/SFE period, candidates will complete their SF Physical and any other administrative requirements dictated by cadre. Candidates who meet all standards will be at SFAS within 60 days of SFE. Candidates who are selected will get permanently assigned to 19th Special Forces Group and attend the SFQC. Those that fail to get to SFAS or get selected may return to SFA (starting over at application) as soon as they are cleared by cadre and their unit.

POLICY
EVERYONE who wishes to attend SFAS as a Texas candidate must adhere to the SFTP schedule. ALL applications will be submitted by unit Readiness NCO or other unit representative. EVERYONE will qualify for the program via SFA. EVERYONE will adhere to the training schedule to include SF Physical deadlines as dictated by cadre. Failure to meet any standard that prevents you from attending the SFAS class associated with your current SFTP class will result in removal from SFTP, and you will start over at Application for the next class as allowed by SFTP cadre and your unit.

SFR & SFE
All TXARNG M-DAY candidates are required to accept attachment to SFTP and complete SFR and SFE. Out of state ARNG candidates, TXARNG AGR, and Reservists are welcome and encouraged to attend SFR and SFE, but since we cannot attach you to our unit, we cannot require your participation. You will attend the same SFAS class as your SFTP classmates regardless of your participation level.

REQUIREMENTS
SFTP candidates must be in the rank of E4-E7 or O2-O3 and be qualified in an Army MOS. All candidates must have an active DTS account, GTC, green IMR, CIF issue, secret clearance for duration of SFTP, and one-year retainability from SFA date. Enlisted candidates must have a 100 GT score.

APPLICATION PROCEDURES
Download the application. Fill out your personal information. Send it to your Readiness NCO to complete and send to us. All directions are in the document. All application deadlines are seven days prior to SFA.
